WALK THIS JOURNEY WITH ME
"We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors–we borrow it from our children"
My journey into sustainability came gradually. First, it was with my love for animals and then the planet. Mostly I was bothered by things being wasted. When I learned what it took to make things- I became more aware of what it meant to waste things. Watching people buy things to use for a short time just to throw them away always pained me. My friends would roll their eyes as I dug( perfectly good) just-purchased gift bags from the trash.
I'm so happy that behavior is now considered "sustainable" or "eco-friendly" and my dumpster diving ways are more socially acceptable. Don't get me wrong- I'm not a person who doesn't enjoy life. I love to throw parties and do all the good things in life but I just like to do those things in a way that has the least amount of negative impact on the planet.
Being aware of the preciousness of our resources helps to guide me in my choices. Sometimes we have to make choices that aren't sustainable and that's okay. In this blog, I will share some tips and tricks I have learned about easy ways to be more earth-friendly. I will offer ways to eco-consciously navigate this beautiful life and planet in our imperfect quest to be more aware, connected and appreciative of Mother Earth.
